Great River Race 08/22/09 - To anyone who wants to compete.... PLEASE contact me!

The North and South Rivers Watershed Association is hosting their annual Great River Race this Saturday (08/15/09), which starts at 1:00pm.  The race is 7 miles long.  The registration fee is $30 per person.  The event website may be found at the following address:

http://www.nsrwa.org/Event-30.html

If anyone is interested in putting together a crew of four to row one of our Mainville Pilot Gigs, or to use a Gloucester Gull (dory), an Alden single or any water craft belonging to CMI to race, please contact me ASAP at the following email address... cutlere [at} hotmail.com.  I may also be reached on my cell at (339) 832 0324, but I would prefer email.

*Only CMI members who are certified to use single shells may enter one in the Great River Race.*

CMI has a LIMITED number of single shells/dorys and oars/oarmasters.  Also, I believe we only have the capacity to trailer two Mainville's.  I (along with the powers that be) will do my best to make sure that everyone who wants to race will be able to race.

Go CMI!  Let's get organized!

LASTLY!  Sara Grady, a NSRWA Watershed Ecologist, will be swimming the 7mile course on the day of the race in order to raise money for NSRWA and awareness for water pollution.  Please learn more about her swim and support her cause by visiting her website at the following address: http://www.firstgiving.com/sarapgrady
